We are just SO BUSY now that we are back from vacation. I'll be back, but it might be a while. Wish us good luck getting everything done. We move in on Saturday. YAY!

Beach-Part I

OK, seriously, I can't figure out how to get these pictures in order and it's just too time consuming to drag and drop them. So, here are our out of order pictures from day one (DC) and day 2 so far (Outer Banks, NC...OBX)

I believe there are 28 of us here. This is just a small part of the whole clan.

Cade on the skimmer. This family comes prepared. A skimmer, boogie boards, a surf board, sand castle tools, tents, chairs, ping pong paddles, ladder ball and so. much. more.

Cade and Jeff with the skimmer.

At the airport in DC waiting for cousin Cassie. (see how cooperative these guys are?)

More skimmer shots.

Hannah! So cute :)

Jeff getting up on the surf board!

Not bad for the first time in 16 years!

Cade and Jeff waiting for a wave.

Cade teaching cousin Conner some pool tips.

Cade helping cousin Kylie this time.

Cassie and Jeff. We hit the beach right away yesterday because our house wasn't quite ready. Poor Cassie has a broken leg :(

Just a few of the houses from the beach. They are very similar to the ones we're staying in.

Cade was certain he'd catch a crab. But those suckers are FAST!
More to come...it's only 4:15 :)

Home Sweet Home

We leave for vacation in less than an hour, but I just HAD to post these pictures of our new house. It's FINALLY official. YAY!

Stairs leading to the partially finished basement.

Jeff and Cade figuring out what to do with this little nook downstairs.

Jeff is going to change a LOT of this. We're thinking about an extra bedroom and a movie room. Cade is super excited about demolishing whatever he can.

Looking the other direction.

The yucky partial bathroom downstairs.

The adorable tiny bathroom on the main level.

Guest bathroom on the 2nd story.

Looking out the master bedroom window.

Looking into the backyard from the master bedroom. Cade has already started digging the hole for the pond they are going to build.

Um, hello, the awesome walk in closet in the master.

Master bedroom

Looking down the hallway from the top of the stairs to the master bedroom.

Cades room. I guess he wants to paint it so it's not purple, though ;P

Master bath.

Extra room either desk room or guest room.

Another extra room.

Walking up to the 2nd story.

Living Room. Jeff is going to fill in the hole where the TV goes so we can mount ours.

Looking into the dining room and kitchen from the living room.

Looking into the dining room and living room from the kitchen. Jeff is going to tear out that little wall thing to open it up more.

Kitchen.

Entering OUR house for the first time!

Backing into the driveway to unload the wood floors.

Our home!

We're going to try to plan to paint the whole inside and put down the wood floors after we get back from vacation. Then we'll move in on the 4th of July. I'm so excited! Stay tuned :)

Closing Scheduled

Oh. My. Word. I guess it's finally really truly official. Our closing on the house we are purchasing is tomorrow at 12:30. I will feel such a sense of relief after all those papers are signed and the keys are in our hands. Phew. Beach vacation, here we come!

Celebrations!

Well, time for some fun stuff in the midst of all this house stress! On the 11th we celebrated our 1 year anniversary! It was great :) We exchanged gifts and went out to "our restaurant", Paravacini's. Then we celebrated Fathers Day early yesterday because a) I thought it was Fathers Day and b) when we found out I was wrong we realized we'll be on vacation during the actual Fathers Day and so Cade wanted Jeff to open his present early. Enjoy the photos :)

Cade made Jeff a portable art kit. Complete with close pins to hold his paper, a little cup for his pencils or paint brushes, an area to mix his paints and a little nook to set the brush or pencil he's using on. So cute!

Here is Cade building his very own sawing table. (he loves to build!)

Happy 365th day! (we saved a bottle of wine for a year instead of cake!)

Here are the gorgeous flowers my hubby got for me.

Well, this didn't turn out, but I got Jeff a bunch of stuff for our "new old" truck. And on the gift bag as well as on each item I put a little tag telling how being married is like buying an old truck. For example, on the tarp I put that he protects me. And on the straps I put that we can handle anything that comes our way by strapping it into place and moving on. Cheesy stuff like that :)

Here he is opening his truck stuff.

Clarence is enjoying the tarp as well.

We got Cade an anniversary present, too. A tool set! He really liked it. I wanted him to know it was an anniversary of us all becoming part of the same family. I think he liked that.

More truck stuff.

Reading the comics the tools were wrapped in. He loved that, too!

Reading the cheesy messages ;P
Then end. We're supposedly closing on the the house by Thursday at the latest, maybe Wed and possible Tuesday. Which means probably Thursday. I can't wait to have all those papers signed and keys in hand. What a relief it will be to go on vacation having that FINALLY finished!

An open letter to the school district

So the plan for school this year, at the K-5 level, was pretty complicated to begin. (the plan was made after lots of meeting and planning ...
