the maiden voyage!

A note: This, the maiden voyage, was a mixture of extremes. I was SO SO proud of Jeff for accomplishing yet another dream project. He has been dreaming about this sail boat, watching videos and working hard for 2 years. He did a beautiful job! We were all so excited to launch her. BUT. Olivia and I, having never experienced sailing before, were petrified! All the rocking and the feeling of tipping. We took on a little water. Went fast. It was scary for us. Poor Jeff. :( Patsy and Jim did a wonderful job of being excited, having fun, complimenting him and helping out. The 3 of them went back out after dropping Olivia and I off at the dock, so Jeff got to have a little bit better of a time that day. Now he has taken it out several times on his own to get more used to everything, so hopefully the 3 of us will get out on the water again before the end of summer so that Livi and I can have a trip with a little less fear and more fun :)
