UGH!

Well, we are back to pretty much knowing NOTHING about the house. We don't know when we'll close. We don't know if we'll close. We were supposed to know Monday, then Tuesday, then for sure yesterday. But nope. We leave for vacation on the 19th. If we aren't able to close by the 18th (which is too late for the sellers bank, but for some reason still might work...I don't get it) then we are dropping the whole thing and starting over. If we have to start over we'll probably end up staying with my parents for a while. And we'll be out quite a bit of money. And we'll be mad and discouraged. And mad. Oh dear. Please pray for us and this process. I am so frustrated and stressed. I'll try to keep you updated.

Today we sold my beloved Jetta and bought a GMC truck. I will for sure miss my little VW, and even hope to get another one someday. Or a Saab. Or a BMW! But in the meantime we now have a truck, with no payments, that will be super handy for all the projects the new house will have. Just another part of our new journey!

Cade: however many toes you crack is how many girlfriends you have. that means I have 7.
Jeff: that's a lot of annoying girls!

Jeff: I mean...lucky you if they're all like Terri!

We have had quite the 2 days already since Cade's arrival. It's going to be a full summer with play time and moving. Cade has already built a ramp for his remote control truck, a sandwich cooler which we will try out tomorrow on a picnic AND a fathers day present, which of course I can't reveal until after next weekend ;)

5 days

So the goal is to close on the 12th. That's 5 business days from now. Our paperwork is in underwriting, whatever that means. The inspection is done. The appriasial is done. I guess we just wait some more now. I'll be so thankful to have this over and done with. But then don't even get me started on everything we have to do before we move in. Ugh. Being a grown up is hard. In happier news, Cade will be here today! YAY :)

Arm Twisted

First of all, I honestly don't remember the last time I was this stressed. It's been super crazy with all of this house stuff. Yesterday we found out that one of the other offers that was rejected was going to come back at $100 more than our asking price! WHAT? Um, how did they know what $100 would be more than our offer? So we decided we are NOT going to play that game. But right before I went to bed we got an email with the signed offer from the seller! Apparently the other buyer didn't get their stupid counter offer in in time. So it's still not final because we now have to close early and that means this process has to go at lightning speed. We're trying to trust that it will all happen in the timing it needs to, but there is always a chance it won't. So your prayers are still greatly appreciated! In the meantime, there is only one picture of the house, but here it is :) I hope it will be ours!

Waiting again!

We're making an offer! We've looked at 19 houses and we are making an offer on the 19th one. Hopefully it will be presented tomorrow. It's been so stressful I feel like my body has been tied into knots! We had to wait ALL WEEKEND because of course banks aren't open and our broker hadn't really done the job in a timely manner like we had hoped. We also had to wait to see if our buyer could move up their closing date, which would affect our clsoing date and on and on. Not to mention there are 2 other offers going in on the hosue as well. Talk about a lot of variables that could go wrong. But we got the loan info we needed today, talked to our realtor who is finishing up the offer right now and will get it to the listing agent this afternoon, aren't going to worry about the closing date because we think our offer will be good enough that they won't mind waiting a few extra weeks and now we just wait. I was going to post a picture of the house, but I think I'll wait. Unless you twist my arm. It's so hard not to decide what color to paint the walls on this house that isn't even ours! Say a little prayer and send positive thoughts out. I'll keep you posted!
