More on Moving

OK here’s the scoop. We’ve been playing around with the idea of moving to a different state. Somewhere warm. And cold, with lots of snow for my dear, crazy hubby. Sometimes after work we’d just surf around on the web looking at other options. Colorado is EXPENSIVE, by the way, as far as house prices. We could get so much more houses in so many other areas. Like on a lake in Maine, for example. Or near the ocean in NC. Not to worry, though. We are staying in Colorado. One of the many things I love about Jeff is his love of coaching. He’s great at it! This summer he’s going to coach a club team, even, with the hopes that his girls will swim this summer in order to get even better for next season. He’s committed and dedicated and I am so proud of him. So in that light, and in the light of the incredible buyers market, we started looking around at houses in Colorado Springs. With the low interest rate and the pitiful economy, houses are more affordable than they used to be. Which is great news. On the other hand, we’ll of course get less money for our house, even after all the incredible work Jeff has done to make it gorgeous. So we’re on the market. We have a 6 month contract with our realtor. We’re just going to see what happens. We’re in no hurry and we both love our home, so if it doesn’t sell, we’ll probably be discouraged, but we’ll still be in a place we love. If we do sell, then we’ll be on an exciting adventure! We’ve looked at neighborhoods and have several in mind, but we’re trying not to get our hopes up or fall in love with a place until we know we can get a buyer for ours. The object is to get them in the door I think. Once you’re in, you’ll fall in love. It’s a small place, though, so it might be hard to get people to even get past the square footage. If you know of a newlywed couple or a single person looking to buy, I think it would be perfect for them! Some things we know we want in a future home are a big yard, an extra bedroom and/or extra living area, a place that needs some work so Jeff can put some TLC into a new home. To come: before and after pictures of our current house. Stay tuned. You’ll be amazed!

"Or near the beach in NC..."
I pick THAT one!!! I can't believe you're selling your house. And I know you say you're going to stay in the Springs, I've got my fingers crossed. It gets cold here and snows (sometimes).

An open letter to the school district

So the plan for school this year, at the K-5 level, was pretty complicated to begin. (the plan was made after lots of meeting and planning ...
