Paradise Found

But first--Fathers Day. We went to a nursery and picked out 2 bushes to plant on the side of the house. Cade and Jeff did the same thing last year, so now it's tradition!

And now...

From Miami International Airport to Grand Bahama International Aiport.

We made the 34 minute flight. (and you're NOT supposed to take pictures in the airport. oops!)

The Beach! Look at that white sand :)

Our pool. We had one of the best rooms in the entire place as far as view goes.

A cute little hut with drinks and food.

The ocean! The water was crystal clear and a beautiful green.

Yes, I'm a dork and I took a picture of the teeny tiny cart the condiments came in.

More pool shots.

Right across from our hotel was the Port Lucaya marketplace. It was colorful and CUTE.

Yes! I got a shot of Jeff and he was facing the camera AND smiling!

Jeff swimming "laps" in the ocean :)

The honeymooners

This is what happens to your camera and sunglasses when you step out of the airconditioned place into the humidity. Oops! We rented scooters and traveled around the town.

We saw some vultures along the way.

This was the scene pretty much the entire way.

This was the national park. Go down the spiral stairs to the cave and water below.

More white sand and clear ocean.

This is what happens when I try to take the picture...

...this is what happens when Jeff does it.

Eating fresh, raw conch salad. It was pretty tasty until you started thinking about what you were eating. The shell of the conch is on Jeff's knee.

There were lots of pretty plants and flowers, but I didn't get any other pictures.

And this is Jeff's attempt to show that I was actually at the beach, too. :)

Jeff went fishing for a morning and all he caught was this picture of this barge :(

And then we were goofing around at the airport on our way home.

Bye bye Bahamas

Bye Bye paradise. It was a wonderful week! Jeff said he's excited to get back home. Maybe that's because he's still on summer vacation and doesn't have to wake up at 5:45 tomorrow morning. Oh well. Back to real life. MARRIED real life! :)

An open letter to the school district

So the plan for school this year, at the K-5 level, was pretty complicated to begin. (the plan was made after lots of meeting and planning ...
