Olivia Layne - 48 Weeks/11 Months
Oh.My.Word. You will be 1 year old in a MONTH. How can it be? You still amaze me every day. You have started this new laugh that's like a little breathy giggle. You are eating more and more table food and you seem to love feeding yourself. It is a blast to play games with you, like making funny noises for your toys or playing hide and seek with them. You dance and clap to music, you talk like crazy. You love to sit in carts at the store and let's face it, I love to go to the store with you ;) You love to look at the Christmas tree each night, which I love so much. You know howto feed your baby her bottle and with a spoon and you hug your animals and give sloppy kisses to them (and sometimes to Clarence!) There have even been a couple of occassions where you have stopped playing, crawled over to me and given me a hug. It is probably one of the BEST feelings in the entire world. I can't wait for a million more hugs! There are some fun Christmas events in town in December and I can't wait to experience some holiday cheer with you. This is a weird transition month for Mama. My body has given up the milk ghost. I love you my little angel. Let's soak up this next month of your first year!
side note: Today was the last day I'll bring my pump to work. I confess I'm super excited about that, but sad that I'll have to start giving you formula during the day for the next month. I'm proud of both of us for making such a special thing work for this long and I hope we'll continue our sweet bonding time at night and in the mornings for a while, but no matter what, I know things will work out. xoxo

Olivia Layne - 47 weeks
Baby girl you are growing up like crazy! You are now eating lots of table foods and feeding yourself! You had tons of Thanksgiving foods. It was so yummy :) You seem to smile more easily these days. Of course maybe that's because Cade is here. You pull up onto everything, giving me a heart attack every time you wobble or plop down to your bottom. I am having a blast enjoying the holidays with you. We got to go visit Santa, and while you are not impressed with him, you loved watching the dancing elves and you bounced and clapped and smiled so big with them. You are my delight, Livi. xoxo.
Fa La La La La!!!!!!
Well we have been busy having FUN! Cade is home and we've been enjoying some fabulous family time. I may be biased, but I have to say, Cade is the greatest teenage boy ever! As he gets older (sniff!) he gets more polite, more thoughtful, funnier, and cuter. He is an excellent big brother and I could not wish for a better brother for Livi. She delights in him! It took her a smidge to remember him, but now she is head over heels for him again :) We spent Thanksgiving with Grandma and Grandpa Smalberger, Great Grandma and Great Granddad and Uncle Scottie. The food was amazing and the company was even better. At the beginning of the week we got a special visit from Gramma and Grampa Schurz. It's always wonderful and easy to have them as guests and hard to say goodbye. Gramma did a photo shoot with us for our Christmas cards, so stay tuned for those in your mail! And before that Olivia and I got to meet Santa! He came to our mall complete with a parade, lighting of the giant tree and some hip-hopping elves. She loved the dancing elves, but did NOT love Santa. Ah well, we still have a picture to commemorate the evening, with Mama next to Santa and Olivia in Mama's lap :) I experimented with making homemade ornaments for family from Olivia. I hoped to put her hand print in homemade clay but no one told me it's impossible to get a 10 month old to press a flattened hand into clay. Oh well, I still took pictures, of course. We also decorated for Christmas. 'Tis the season. I LOVE this time of year! Here is an overload of pictures. Enjoy!
