Olivia Layne

A few hours old!

Olivia is now 7.5 days old! Let me tell you, I never knew how in love I would be, OR how scared and overwhelmed. We're slowly getting used to nursing, sleeping, changing (OK, not so used to that, she is NOT a fan of being changed!), looking around, making little noises and repeating. We've had some great help from Patsy and Jim and my mom the past week and I'm so thankful because I honestly don't know if I could make it without them-and she seems like a really good baby, so I can't imagine if she was difficult! Jeff has been the best dad anyone could be and Olivia adores him as much as he adores her. I can't even write about how sad it was that Cade had to leave on Monday. The tears seemed like they would never stop flowing. He was just awesome with his little sister. Asking when she'd be doing this and when she'd be doing that, helping with dinner, offering to hold her a lot. It is one of the saddest things ever that he can't be with us all the time. I'm thankful that it's sad when he leaves rather than the other way around, though. Right now Olivia is in her swing looking at the mobile spin around. Maybe Grandma Schurz is right, maybe she is advanced for her days! (excessive pictures to follow!)
getting weighed and checked out.

not so happy about it

mama had a rough go of it, a few hours later and a few days later, but we're on the mend

Trying out her swing

Visitors! Great Granddad and Grandma and cousin Dillon. Granddad did great with her even though she cried the whole time!

Cade and his magic brother touch getting her to calm down. After a while of her crying he just looked up and said "anyone else want to hold her?" It was pretty cute!

Clarence is feeling quite left out. If you just look at him he will start purring now.
